Simple Tips To Maintain Your Braided Wigs

We hear many ladies complain about the way their braided wigs wear out so easily, I guess this could be as a result of lack of proper maintenance. The fact is that, your maintenance and treatment of this braided wig determines how well it will serve you. Braided wigs can be more difficult to maintain than other wigs due to the risk of ruining the braids. Check out easy tips to maintaining your braided wigs.

Wash Your Wig: Dip midway into a bowl of very hot water every 2weeks with a few drops of oil (optional) to straighten end. Most braided wigs can stand to be washed after every 10 to 15 times, depending on how often you wear them.

Dry the Wig:  It is best to let your wig dry overnight and have a backup version on hand if you need to wear one right away. Blow drying a human hair wig is acceptable unlike the synthetic, but it can cause the braids to frizz.  Apply hair mousse while wet and as desired from time to time when dry to keep frayed hair away. Always hang upright with the tips straight too

Conditioner/Cream: Depending on the kind of braids, having your conditioner and cream in place is very important. For synthetic braided wigs, spray-on your conditioner and for human hair, get a cream version.

Spray on some oil sheen from time to time to restore shine.

Don’t do the following:

* Do not have your braided wig tied up often, because doing this will leave the ends looking tacky.

* Do not plait the ends.

* Just like your weaves, do not sleep with your braided wig on because that will result in a lot of frayed hairs appearing.

Good maintenance is the key to getting good value for your money, no matter how good something is, if not properly maintained it will wither away.
